Sukkot, The Feast of Tabernacles 2022

John 7 is the seventh chapter of the Gospel of John in the New Testament of the Christian Bible. It recounts Yeshua’s visit to Jerusalem for the feast of Tabernacles, the possibility of his arrest and debate as to whether he is the Messiah.

Sukkot or The Feast of Tabernacles – Leviticus 23:33-44 is one of the annual feasts we, the First Foundation Ministries (FFM) keep. This year, for the first time ever, we celebrated Sukkot in a new venue. This feast has always been celebrated at our pastor’s plot but, this year we went to Westvaal Holiday Resort and it was amazing!

Sukkot is a pilgrimage festival along with Pesach and Shavuot. This year, it began at sundown on Sunday 9 October and ended at sundown on Sunday 16 October.

As FFM, we began the eight-day feast with an amazing dance night at our usual church in Vanderbijlpark. It was absolutely magnificent!

During Sukkot, it is traditional to build a sukkah, a temporary dwelling for the festival.

Sukkot 2022 was filled with various fun activities which brought us together as a family.

Next year in Jerusalem!
