Attempted murder at the Johannesburg Central Police Station

JOHANNESBURG CENTRAL: The South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Captain Xoli Mbele has confirmed an incident at the Johannesburg Central Police Station where police officers apprehended a 33-year-old male for attempted murder.

The incident took place at corner Commissioner and Alexander Street on the 17th of April 2022 at 14:00.

It is alleged that the suspect stabbed a 30-year-old male several times in the upper body.

Captain Mbele narrated, “Initially the suspect assaulted a female and the victim tried to stop him; he took out a knife and stabbed him. The female who was initially assaulted rushed to the police station and alerted the police. Swift response by the police led to the apprehension of the suspect and a knife was recovered from him. The victim was taken to hospital by an ambulance where he was treated and discharged.”
