Sedibeng Men’s Sector Forum Launched

Today, Thursday the 7th of April 2022, Executive Mayor Cllr Lerato Maloka joined several other stakeholders for the launch of the Sedibeng Men’s Sector Forum.



The launch began with a march against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide. The march started at General Smuts High School and passed through Vereeniging Magistrate’s Court. At the court, a memorandum of demands was handed over to the Chief Magistrate and the procession continued to Vereeniging City Hall where the launch took place.

The Chief Magistrate was given fourteen working days to respond to the memorandum in writing. Some of the people present called for harsh sentences for those who are found at the wrong end of the law, especially with regards to GBV.
