When celebrities disappear from the limelight, do we care at all what has befallen them or do we only shower them attention when the spotlight is shining? Then when they pass on, we parade our selfies with them and tell the world how much we loved and adored them. How they were very talented etcetera etcetera. We then narrate how we saw that they needed help and splash the internet with the pics of them when they were down and out. We have seen this happen too many times with late artists, can we change the narrative? Let’s care whilst they’re still with us and offer help where it’s needed.
Hugh Masebenza and Quincy Kekana, where are they?
SA actor and musician Hugh Masebenza’s health is deteriorating amidst allegations of drug abuse and destitution. According to photos on the internet and eyewitness accounts, Masebenza has allegedly fallen on hard times. Some tweets claim to have seen him begging on the streets of Pretoria, playing his acoustic guitar. These tweets go as far back as 2019. If these photos are anything to go by, then his health is indeed deteriorating and is in dire need of medical treatment, this can not be made up.
Hugh is the guy in the Savannah Dry adverts such as the, “Your monkey stole my Savannah” ad. When last did you see him? Where is he now? He has not been active on social media since 2017, or was it someone trying to make it look like it was him tweeting?
A tweet from 2019 says:
Calls for Savannah Cider or anyone at all to help Hugh are falling on deaf ears. Hugh has apparently been living on the streets since 2015 and his health is deteriorating.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP HUGH MASEBENZA?
However, a post from someone claiming to be related to Hugh has called the allegations fables:
Daily Sun wrote on him in 2015 already. Did he get help but relapsed? What is going on with Hugh? Where is his family?
