EMFULENI: MEC for Community Safety Faith Mazibuko and Emfuleni Public Safety MMC Ndade Mokoena, together with Evaton Mafatsane SAPS, Community Patroller Forum (CPF) acting chairperson, and CPF Patrollers from Sector 1,2,3,4,5 of Evaton Clusters, conducted school raids at the Residensia Industrial site and local scrap yards.
They also went to Eatonside, where a ton of school furniture was piled up and unaccounted for. The recovered furniture was taken to Tshepo Themba High School in Residensia.
The Emfuleni waste bins, in the area, were filled with metals from the stolen goods. The bins were immediately returned to Emfuleni Local Municipality.
Mokoena said, “As I took oath of office on 22 November 2021, I was grateful to have been appointed by Executive Mayor Cllr Sipho Radebe in the portfolio of Public Safety. I applaud MEC Mazibuko for showing interest in the safety of our schools. Furthermore, schools and school-related activities are inspected to ensure that students are not exposed to violence, bullying, harassment, or substance abuse.”
MEC Faith Mazibuko stated,”Our goal is to ensure that every citizen of Gauteng lives with no fear.”
