Sedibeng: Gauteng SAPS spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, has reported that police has arrested four suspects and recovered two unlicensed firearms, ammunition, a hijacked vehicle and dagga.
Masondo says that two of the suspects were arrested yesterday, Monday the 17th of January 2022, on the Golden Highway in Sebokeng after they were found in possession of a hijacked vehicle, unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

“The arrests emanated after SAPS members were out on a routine patrol and noticed a suspicious-looking vehicle with three occupants; a search was conducted. Two suspects were apprehended after they were found in possession of unlicensed firearms while the third suspect evaded arrest when he fled the scene on foot. Further investigation led the police to the recovery of a vehicle linked to a hijacking case reported earlier this month at SAPS Vanderbijlpark,”

“In another takedown, on Sunday 16 January 2022, police arrested two suspects for dealing in dagga. Police operationalized information about two suspects dealing in dagga and proceeded to the identified addresses in Orange Farms. Upon searching the premises, members of Sedibeng K9 seized packets of dagga. The suspects were subsequently arrested for dealing in dagga.”

Arrested suspects appeared at Sebokeng Magistrates Court today.
