MEC Faith Mazibuko launches Green Doors in Sedibeng

MEC FAITH MAZIBUKO, GAUTENG COMMUNITY SAFETY

MEC Faith Mazibuko today launched Green Doors in Sedibeng region as part of the national Women’s Month programme.

The Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Faith Mazibuko, has today launched green doors small shelters in Eikenhof and Evaton West, as part of the Gauteng Provincial Government’s response towards the fight against sexual abuse, gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF).

Green doors are safe sites that are situated within five kilometres to the local police stations that offer victims of gender-based violence services such as emotional containment, trauma debriefing and referral to the nearest police station to open a case.

Present at the Evaton West Green Door launch were Ward Cllr Nomsa Mooi, Moruti Thami Latha, Moruti Scotch Marogane, Col Stofina Mofokeng and Moruti Dube.
