Two thirds of winter is gone now and I for one couldn’t be happier. I absolutely loathe the cold season with every single bone in my body. Unfortunately, this is also the most terrible part of winter as the kicks of a dying horse are the most deadly.
This year’s winter has been the coldest in a long time. I’m so sure August might have some unpleasant surprises. I remember some years ago when it actually snowed here in Vereeniging. I think it was in 2012. Can you believe that was my first and last experience with snow? And, no thank you. I don’t want another one. The snow was nice but, the cold wasn’t!

The long and unexpected power cuts just make matters worse. I can’t help but wonder, are there other African countries also experiencing such power cuts as we do here in South Africa? If it’s not loadshedding (power cuts) then the electricity is finished. The electricity is so expensive, R400 worth of electricity lasts for only two weeks. Can you believe that?
I guess, we need to explore other energy sources as soon as possible, if not, we’re heading for disaster.
What shall become of Africa, I mean, seriously!
