International Women’s Day 2016

By Constance van Niekerk in SA
Today is the International Women’s Day. Women are stronger than they think. It scares me that in this day and age there are women who are living in abusive marriages and relationships just because they fear the unknown. Walking away is not going to break you but make you stronger. Some have stayed and ended up as statistics.

Women should be each other’s sisters, aunts, friends and pillars instead of pulling each other down.

This year’s IWD campaign theme is #PledgeForParity. I’m pledging to help fellow women and girls in any way that I can.

If you have a story to tell, get in touch with us on afriquebeat@gmail.com. You are not alone…

Happy Women’s Day to all the women around the world.
