Tuku celebrates 40 years in the music industry

Zimbabwean multi award-winning musician Oliver Mtukudzi, affectionately known as Tuku by his multitudes of fans last week celebrated 40 years in the music industry and also officially opened his Pakare Paye Studio in Norton, a satellite town of Harare where he lives.


Tuku handing over the scissors to Guest of honour Bothwell Nyamhondera for cutting the ribbon at the official opening of Pakare Paye Studio in Norton while resident engineer Vusumuzi Moyo looks on.

Among the prestigious guests was South African heartthrob Ringo Madlingozi of Sondela fame who also did a duet with Tuku on his Into Yam remix.

The studio was opened by the Guest of Honour, Bothwell Nyamhondera, Zimbabwe’s ace Music Producer and Studio Engineer. Other guests included SA based former Ilanga band member and 2011 SAMA (South African Music Awards) Award Winner Keith Farquharson, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa  born Steve Dyer of Thabiso fame, Professor Fred Zindi, The Charambas, Sulumani Chimbetu, ZMC and Tuku’s former Manager Debbie Metcalfe, just to mention a few.
